Hmm, 20 years my junior? That would make her 8, so no. However, no one can tell you what is right for you. I've always believed in kindered spirits and souls, and once we're adults, age should ideally not factor into the equation. You mention worries about other people mistaking her for your daughter. In my opinion, other people can go to hell. You don't owe anyone anything besides yourself and her.

True or False: Watchtower Male Stereotype
by YoursChelbie ini always used to cringe when the watchtower "family" and "youth" books would stereotype men and women into two mutually exclusive categories: "men think while women feel.
"one trait is not better than the other they are just different...," i recall the books went on to say in so many words.
i'm well aware both men and women have excelled in science, etc.

This goes beyond what the wtbts puts out and is an indicator of societal pressures exerted upon every one of us. Consider this, the next time you observe a young child fall down and get hurt. If it is a boy, you'll hear "Oh you're all right. You're a big boy; big boys don't cry." Girls, on the other hand, will be encouraged to display their hurts and emotions more openly. How much is genetic and how much is enivironment is a point for discussion.

Husband forgot our anniversary....again
by nsrn ini'm wide awake at 2 a.m., with my mind ruminating on stuff i should leave alone.
i wish i could turn it off in the night, when worries spin out of control.
let me list my concerns: this was my 26th wedding anniversary, and my husband forgot it apparently.

Dates that you have to remember are just an excuse for women to get pissed off. Women are always looking for an excuse to be hurt and offended by men, or an excuse to go tramping around. Pretty petty, imho.

How much of a man are you? Problems with rats, I just can't do it
by needproof inlast summer, i noticed a rat living underneath my shed in the back garden.
i tried my hardest to convince my female counterpart that we had a rat living with us, but as usual was met with a wall of silence.
so time passed and i didn't see rodney the rat again, so i just figured that he had gone away some place else.

Maybe he had a card waiting for you to mention the date? Really though, what's the bfd about stupid dates. They mean nothing.

"Childish and irresponsible reactions?" Hmmm . . . given your post history, I'd say that's the pot calling the kettle black.
This is a textbook fallacy known as "argument ad hominem," and is completely irrelevant--I won't even address its accuracy.

Gas is still cheaper then bottled water and I get a whole lot more from a gallon of gas then water.
Not so. I pay $.58/gallon for my bottled water.

It's the Watchtower that should be ashamed, for ruining lives and sowing the seeds of hate. This needs repeating. Shame on you--Watchtower. They deserve no respect what-so-ever.
She herself said she has not been inside a Hall since the 80's. At what point does personal responsibility come into our actions? Some of you sound like you'd give a free ticket for someone to do any conceivable thing, blaiming the Watchtower. I'm amazed at some of the childish and irresonsible reactions I'm seeing here. In fact, that was the thing that bothered me most about the video. She began by saying she was made by the wtbts. Bullshit, we make ourselves and we are resonsible for our own actions.

I'm not advocating anything, merely expressing an opinion based on what I heard and observed of the attitude of the watchtower towards any other belief system during my time as a jw.
Were you or were you not implying that Brenda's video was not in the wrong because of Witness actions and behavior? That's certainly what it looked like.
